OTAHUHU CLUB i 1 ANNUAL MEETING At the annual meeting of the Otahuhu Bowling Club, Mr. H. E. Everett presiding, the report showed the club finished fifth in the pennant competition, and that a -large programme of j club competitions had been got off. The j balance sheet showed a larger bank | overdraft, which was due to the erection of new conveniences and the laying down of a new green. The club’s membership is 61 financial and four honorary members. The election of officers for the 192930 season resulted as follows: —President, Mr. C. P. Downey; senior vicepresident, Mr. W. Ferguson; junior vice-president, Mr. D. Sinclair; secretary, Mr. W. Morton; treasurer, Mr. W. H. Pinkey; immediate past president, Mr. H. E. Everitt; green superintendent, Mr. G. "V. Pearce; assistant secretary, Mr. W. E. Venables; com- ; mittee, Messrs. McNary, Gorrie, Cook, Russell, Crawford, Ogilvie; match committee, Messrs. Venables, Russell, Ferguson; sole selector, Mr. J. Gardiner; delegates to the Auckland Centre, Messrs. Downey and Morton. It was decided to enter teams in the pennant competition, and to arrange inter-club games with the opposing clubs on pennant days, as well as a programme of inter-club games for the season The annual social and prize distribution is to take place on July 22. Close voting on changing the colours resulted in the retention of green and gold. A full list of club competitions was arranged for the coming year, and it is the intention of the executive, now an extra green is available, to run a number of open mid-week tournaments. , Mention was made that the club s representatives were runners-up in the champion rinks competition, were in the semi-finals of the champion pairs competition, and won five open tournaments, _ EDWIN STARS MATCH The next challenger for the Edwin Stars is J. A. Godfrey, of Ellerslie, who will meet the holders, Allen, Richardson, Somervell, "Parsons, at Ponsonby on Saturday. The next challengers on the list are D. C. Fraser, Mount Eden, and li. Whittle, Grey Lynn. In future challenges should be forwarded to the skip of the holders, who has control of the competition.
