BILLS FOR SESSION
SOME LIKELY MEASURES No information as to likely legislation for placing before the House of Representatives by the Government in the coming session is available as yet. There will be, it is believed. Bills providing for finance in land settlement, a new mines Bill, and some measures dealing with education. It may be expected, also, that the Summer Time Bill will come before the House, and a rough counting of the heads indicates that it should be passed. Whether there will be half an hour or an hour, however, remains to be seen. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, mentioned in his public address in Auckland that provision should be made for the aged vagrant. This should be the subject of a Bill also.
