NORTHERN WAIROA VISIT (From Our Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE. Monday. The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education, accompanied by the Hon. C. J. Carrington.. M.L.C.. is making his first official tour of the Northern Wairoa district. This afternoon the Minister performed the official opening ceremony of the Raupo Consolidated School. He will arrive in Dargaville thin

evening at about 6 p.m.. and at S p.m. the Minister will be given a civic reception by the Mayor. Mr. F. A. Jones, at the Municipal Buildings, and afterwards entertained at a conversazione. Mr. Atmore will receive deputations tomorrow’ morning and inspect the Dargaville schools. Among the matters to be brought under the notice of the Minister by the Dargaville High School Committee are the addition of an extra class room at the secondary department, the erection of a new building for the primary department, increased capitation for district high schools, relief from payment of water charges out of capitation of school committees, the establishment of a hostel and the idea of extending the teaching of agriculture in all its branches at the high school and working in conjunction with the Northern Wairoa Experimental and Demonstration Farm Society. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, who was to have accompanied the Minister through the electorate, is unavoidably absent in the South Island. The Minister will leave for Wbangarei immediately after lunch.
