UNIVERSAL HALFHOLIDAY
DARGAVILLE OPPOSITION (From Our Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Monday. Considering that the proposal to establish a universal Saturday halfholiday in the Dominion would be inimical to the business interests of a great number of country towns and. particularly so to a town so situated as Dargaville, a meeting of the Dargaville Retailers’ Association last week strongly protested against the measure. The Prime Minister and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, member for Kaipara. are to be advised of the attitude of local business people in connection with the proposal.
