Sir George Elliot Joined the Limited f or Wellington at Frankton last evening. Mr. T. Lochead was re-elected chairman of the Tauranga Power Board yesterday. Mr. A. M. Seaman, of Auckland, left by last evening’s Limited on his way to Christchurch. y r . W. Goodfellow was a passenger to Wellington by the Limited last evening. 3,£r. A. E. Jull, of the Main Highways Board, arrived in Auckland this morning. The Hon. T. Shailer Weston, M.L.C., arrived in Auckland this morning from Wellington. He is staying at the Royal Hotel. Mr. H. W. Moss, of H. W. Moss, Ltd., Wellington, left on the Rotorua on Wednesday on a business trip to England and the Continent. He was accompanied by Mrs. Moss. Mr. G. Holtz's election as new district governor of Rotary in Australia was yesterday confirmed by the International Rotary Convention at Balias, Texas. Mr. Richard Christopher has been appointed manager of the Graham Coal Co y. at Glen Afton, vice Mr. Walter Mill* who has retired owing to failing health. Mr. W. Barlow, who lias been inspector on the Thames-Rotorua-Frankton section of the railway for many years, has retired on superannuation. Mr. G. C. Foster, of Auckland, will be his successor. The Bishop of Melanesia (the Rt. Rev. Dr. F. M. Molyneux) will leave Auckland tomorrow for the Hawke’s Bay district, where he will preach in the churches at Napier, Havelock North, and Hastings. Bishop Molyneux hopes to 'eave for his diocese by the mission steamer Southern Cross on Wednesday week next. A vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. J. If. Upton, for 60 years a member of the Auckland Institute and Museum, was passed at last evening’s annual meeting of the institute. The president, Mr. IT. E. Vaile, referred to the loss suffered by the institute, and mentioned that Mr. Upton’s membership was a record one. He had served as president as well as in other executive positions.
