PLAYING BRIDGE i TWO PARTIES GIVEN BY MRS. H. R. BURRETT PRETTY DECORATIONS Blue ninon, patterned with pink rosebuds, fashioned the attractive little frock worn by Mrs. H. R. Burrett at “Tahoma,” her home in Victoria Avenue, Remuel a, last evening, when she entertained a number of her friends at bridge. Her gown was made with a yoke of golden lace, and a smartly dipping hemline where the lace appeared again. Autumn flowers made pretty decora-, tion.s in the rooms. This afternoon she had another little bridge party, at which she received her guests in a smart French frock of georgette. The guests at both parties included: Mrs. C. TRADE UNION FOR DANCING GIRLS STARTING A NEWSPAPER The dancing girls of India's capital town held.a mass meeting, and decided to form a trade union of. dancing girls. They collected about £2,000 to promote the welfare of their community, and have decided to start a newspaper of their own in order to strengthen, their position. Music, dancing, acting, and public entertainments are the . four main points on which they will concentrate. Ten per cent, of the lunds are to be devoted to the helping of the aged and decrepit.
SURPRISE PARTY ‘ I EVENING AT GREEN LANE A gay surprise party was held at the j house of Colonel E>. Munro in Green j Lane last evening. The guests were J received by Miss Munro, who wore a frock of flame crepe de chine. Among those present were: Miss R. J Gresham, black georgette, with black j shawl; Miss KA Spragg. nile green crepe i de chine, with Russian shawl, Miss M. Young, coral pink crepe de chine and variegated shawl; Miss INI. Gresham, jade satin; Miss Gwen Foster, mauve georgette, ivory and tinsel shawl: Miss C. Pragnell, mauve lace, cream embroidered shawl.
