AMBULANCE DIVISION AT ONEHUNGA EXTENDING ACTIVITIES “The marvellous mechanical developments and inventions of modern science have all had their origin in the human frame, the most wonderful machine of them all,” said Superintendent Malcolm Ogden in the Foresters’ Theatre, Onehunga, last evening. He recounted the activities of the Onehunga division of the St. John Ambulance Association. Although the division had been in existence for only a few months, steady progress had been made, said Mr. Ogden. Classes were being held regularly at the Onehunga fire station, and already many of the students had obtained first-aid certificates. A branch of the women’s nursing division had also been formed, and the knowledge gained of first-aid work and general nursing would prove of great public service. The nursing division was present in force, accompanied by Corps Superintendent Schofield and Corps Officer U. Hitchen, of the city division. A fair attendance of the public was entertained by the following contributors of items: —Misses Sylvia Poynter, Gladys and Kathleen Boyle, J.. Kane, Ophia Reeves, Janet Rosser and Elsie Nolan; Messrs. Jack Kingston, B. Watson and P. Boyle. Mrs. Boyle and Mr. T. Harris acted as accompanists.
