MEETING OF EXECUTIVE ASSISTANCE FOR TRAVELLING A meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby* League was held last evening. Mr. G. Rhodes presiding. An appeal by Mr. K. Redmond, of the Richmond Club, for financial assistance toward the senior team's visit to Hikurangi was followed by a lengthy* discussion. He said, the team was keen to assist the game in Northland. Mr. B. Longbottom opposed any* grant on the grounds that it was inconsistent with a resolution moved at last week's meeting. Mr. W. J. Davidson supported Richmond’s appeal, saving Auckland had to look for repre-
sentative matches against other pro- j vinc.es in the near future. t The chairman said it was no business j of the Auckland League to assist another league when a governing body exists. The spirit of assistance, how- ] ever, should be encouraged. It was : eventually decided to make a grant of | £ 10. It was agreed that, provided club matches were not interfered with, no i special fixtures would be played on Saturday*. July* 20, on the occasion of the Auckland v. Wellington Foot- j ball Association challenge match. j Permission was granted the Akarana Club to travel to Hamilton and play j a match on Monday next. The following transfers were ap- : proved:—A. G. Campney. Northcote to j Parnell; J. Stales, Newton to Devon- ? port: S. Harris, Parnell to Otahuhu. j
