This evening Excellency will open the Auckland Society of Arts exhibition and on Frievening he will present the prizes r a Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron function. Mr. H. O. Nolan left by the Limited last evening for Wellington. The Hon. Sir William Flail-Jones, LuC., is visiting Auckland. He is staying at £he Central Hotel. The Rt- Hon. J. G. Leader nt the Opposition, who left for Wellington last evening, will return to Auckland on Friday. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral. left Auckland for Wellington last evening by the Limited express. He expects to return to Auckland on Saturday next. The Hon. J. Or. Cobbe. Minister of Industries and Commerce, who opened the Waikato Winter Show yesterday, left Frankton last evening by the Limited express. <’aptain J. K. Middleton, D. 5.0., R.X.V.R., Director of Naval Reserves, arrived from Wellington yesterday. Mr. H. Robinson, of General Motors, Wellington, left for the South last evening by the Limited. Mr. G. Stewart, in charge of the Xew Zealand Railway Publicity Office, Wellington, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. L. O. Morgan, first assistanf master at To Awamutu District High School, has been appointed headmaster at Motukora, Poverty Bay. Mr. William Gemmell, the wellknown baritone soloist and choirmaster at the ISeresford Street Congregational Church, has been engaged by the Christchurch Musical Society to sing the title role in its production of Klgar’s “Caracta cus.” He will leave on Friday for the performance, which takes place on June 5.
