BIRKENHEAD’S TOWN CLERK
MR. J. W. COCKS APPOINTED Out of 54 applicants for the position of town clerk and treasurer to the Birkenhead Borough Council, Mr. J. W. Cocks, of Paeroa, was appointed at a special meeting of the council held last evening. Mr. Cocks was town clerk of Dargaville from 1915 to 1920 and town clerk of Cambridge from 1920 to 1923. He will commence his new duties on June 4.
