“THE EXPLOITS OF THE EMDEN” The exploits of the German cruiser Emden under Captain Karl von Muller and her ravages on British mer-. chant shipping during the early months of the World War, have been pictured realistically in a film made under the aegis of the German Admiralty, “The Exploits of the Emden,” now at the Majestic Theatre. Several sequences of tho film show the story from the Australian angle. Mabel Poulton, that clever young British, film actress whose popularity is increasing amazingly, is the star attraction in the new British Dominions Films —“Troublesome Wives,” the second big feature. This' picture is full of bright entertainment, and provides plenty of thrills, intermingled with much clever

comedy. An excellent cast includes E r i c Bransby Williams. Lilian Oldland and Marie Ault. Flying, sailing and motor-boat scenes are elements in a story of two husbands who are so engrossed with their study of aircraft that their wives have reason to feel aggrieved, and

become involved in a series of dangers which come near to wrecking their happiness and their husbands’ careers. A climax is reached in a fierce hand-to-hand struggle in a yacht belonging to the villain of the story. Bright supporting pictures and excellent music by Mr. WhitefordWaugh’s Majestic Orchestra completes the entertainment. “Kitty,” the British International screen version of Warwick Deeping’s popular novel, will be screened at the Majestic on Friday. Picturesque and beautiful scenes of the River Thames) are seen throughout the production, j while a thrilling airplane smash forms one of the most tense scenes. The leading roles are portrayed by Estelle Brody. John Stuart, Marie Ault, and Dorothy Cummings. Picturegoers will remember John Stuart and Estelle Brody for their clever portrayals in

“Mademoiselle From Armentieres.” Miss Cummings will be remembered for her many appearances in American films.
