HOVE TO
STEAMER IN GALE BARON MACLAY DELAYED Hove-to 100 miles east of Cuvier Island, the steamer Baron Maclay, inward bound from Galveston (Texas) with a cargo of sulphur, is receiving the full force of a severe southeasterly gale. The master sent radio advice to this effect to the vessel’s local agents, Messrs. R. Millar and Co., this morning. and whereas she was expected to make port at noon today, it is not now anticipated that she will arrive before a late hour tonight or early tomorrow morning. Cuvier Island is approximately 69 miles from Auckland by sea, artd is situated off Cape Colville, Coromandel Peninsula.
