DELEGATES FROM NORTH CONFIDENCE IN EXECUTIVE About 60 delegates from the dairy companies of the Far North attended the opening of the 16th Annual North Auckland Dairy Conference at the Chamber of Commerce this morning. The chairman of the executive, Mr. \Y. Grounds, presided. On the resolution of Air. Groundthe conference decided to place on record its high appreciation of the services rendered to the association and the dairy industry generally by Moss - T. Bassett and Edwin Harding, whos* deaths have occurred since the lasi 9 tribute to the high sense of public duty of the two men. who had bet r foundation members of the conferem • ’The name of Mr. A. DAILY COLLECTION OF CREAM The Government Dairy Division r« ported on the quality of cream which hud passed through the factories din ing the year. Following on this considerable discussion took place on G merits and demerits ot the recently-in treduced daily collection of cream. One delegate said that there \\ .• ~ nothing to touch the system of daih collection. Others contended that when cream was collected daily dairymen took less trouble to see that it was up to the mark than when it was collected every other day. The question of the appointment of a representative committee to consider standardisation ui the purchase of factory requisites was discussed at length, after which it was decided to reappoint the same committee which held oftulast year. ASSOCIATION’S INDIVIDUALITY The chairman reported that the executive had decided not to hold tinannual conference of North Auckland dairies at Whangaroi at the time of the National Dairy Conference, as thiwould tend to minimise the individual nature of the conference. Consequently it had been decided t.* hold it in conjunction with the Waikato Show as usual. Mr. Grounds formally moved the adoption of the balance sheet, a summary of which has been published iti i he Sun. showing a credit balance of .€7l 7s «d. Air. J. B. Gilmore. F.P.A.. was reappointed auditor. Messrs. AY. Grounds, F. AlcDonald and .T. Lochhead were re-elected the Executive Committee, the name of Mr AN'. P. Begg. Northern AYairoa. being added to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Alt*. T. Bassett.
