LmH* (Auckland) on points. It was Leslies first appearance as a professional anc he put up a stubborn fight extending Donovan to the full. It was the firstime that Donovan had had to go th* full distance, all his previous contests having been won by the knockout
In a supporting 10-round professional contest J, Crowley was given a points decision over R. Midgel®y (Taranaki), but the crowd thought thi» other boy had won. and the verdict did not meet with approval Midgeley was making his first appearance as a professional. He was well known as an amateur in the Taranaki district.
