FOR DENTAL CLINIC
CHILDREN’S PARTY HELD IN DARGAVILLE Although the weather was far from pleasant on Saturday evening:, a children’s party, held in the International Hall, was particularly well attended, and a sum in the vicinity of £25 was taken, showing that the merit of the object, the provision of a fund for the building of a dental clinic in Dargaville, fully appealed to the townspeople. Various forms of entertainment were indulged in by the children, who enjoyed themselves to the fullest. A programme fo juvenile items was interspersed with the games, those taikng part being Yvonne Orebich, Joy Pengelly, Shonah White. Merle Capp, Annie Angus, Betty Watters, Doris Smith, Joy Crump. Dulcie Crump, .Merle Orebich. Marie Smith, Ngatre Hayes', Nancy Vause, Joan Bag nail, Thora Campbell. Joan Crump, Myrtle Kirton. Angus Campbell. Pat Crump, Bob Martin, David Campbell. Noel Capp, Ken Bradley, Alan Bradley, Gien Bradley, Ken Greville. Ross Reynolds. Alister Martin, John Goulding, Selwyn Bagnall, with others, in choruses. Dancing for ,adults followed the children’s function. Miss War a tali Wakelin’s Orchestra providing the music, while several others played extras. The chairman of the school corn - jn ttee. Mr. S. G. Barker, thanked the lacy organisers. tie mentioned that th*3 raising of a sum of £IOO, which, "Tth a £2 for £1 Government subsidy. would provide £3OO, sufficient to allow of building the clinic. He also stated that Mrs. A. Gregory had previously collected a sum of £25 toward the object, and asked all to support the scheme. MATAMATA NOTES Miss Baker, Hamilton, is the guest of Miss V. Roberts. Taihoa. Nurse Jolly, of Hamilton, has been notified of her appointment to the Mataxnata Dental Clinic. Mrs. J. t. Laurenson is spending a holiday at Waiuku. The Misses Ward-Smith, Lincoln. Christchurch, have been the guests of Mrs. B. c. Banks during the week. * * * Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wells have returned from Wellington, where the former attended the Teachers’ Conference.
