GUIDE COMMITTEE ENTERTAINS AUGMENTING FUNDS T' r IVID streamers and delicately * shaded lights made a bright | scene of the Foresters’ Hall at Devonport on Saturday evening, when the committee of the North Shore Girl Guides gave a delightful dance in aid of the company’s funds. i The Marimba Dance Band provided j vivacious musical numbers and contri- | buted greatly to the success of the \ evening. Monte Carlo competitions j were won by Miss Jean Kyle and Mr. i M. Everett, and Miss May Bowen and ! Mr. E. Everett. Mr. Gurr was M.C. Committee members present were:—Mrs. Gooding, whose chenille georgette frock was of unerelieved black. Mrs. Lee, wearing a black beaded crepe de chine frock. Mrs. Robins, in a lacquer red frock of georgette. Mrs. W. T. Wynyard, who. wore a black chiffon taffeta frock under an oriental shawl. Mrs. Clarke, wearing a coral beaded georgette frock. Mrs. Ryan, in black georgette and lace. Mrs. Bray, whose black embossed silk crepe frock had a lace overdress. Others present were:
