KEY OF THE DOOR

COMING OF AGE PARTY PINK AND SILVER GOWN A very happy little “deb.” was Miss Peggy Cutting, when she celebrated her 21st birthday party at the home of her aunt, Mrs. A. Houldsworth. Grey Street East, Onehunga, on Saturday evening. About fifty young friends of the * guest of honour were present, and they had a jolly evening with dancing, competitions, favours and fun, and Miss Peggy received a wonderful array of gifts to mark the important occasion, as weil as an enormous key autographed by all the guests. The house was delightfully decorated and the supper room was a bower

of pink and silver. Hanging baskets of silver, filled with pink chrysanthemums and roses and trailing asparagus, were suspended, from the ceiling, and from them and from the light shades fell streamers of palest pink. Briar rose pink chenille embossed georgette and tulle fashioned the frock of Miss Cutting. The foamy skirt of circular frills of tulle joined the fitting bodice of georgette at the natural waistline, and at the hip a bouffant bow of tulle with long floating ends balanced the modish dipping hemline. A shoulder spray of rose and silver and a posy of pink flowers completed - the dainty toilette. Mrs. Houldsworth’s frock was of rainbow* shot lame, with a tiered skirt of lavender taffeta. Mrs. T.
