PERSONAL —Captain S. A. Chatfield has been appointed to command the Kaitoke temporarily, relieving Captain J. Rankine, who has been granted holidays. Captain P. E. Ryan, of the Terawhiti, is ashore on sick leave. Mr. R. B. Denniston is now chief officer of the R.M.S. Tahiti, having relieved Mr. C. Sharpe for his holidays. Mr. C. F. Gaby, fourth officer of the Maraina, has transfererd to the Komata as third officer temporarily, relieving Mr. J. V. Broadhouse, who is awaiting instructions. Mr. E. F. Rainbow, fourth officer of the Manuka, has been appointed third officer of the Wingatui, relieving Mr. H. J. Kemp, who is awaiting orders. Mr. T. C. Langford, fourth officer of the Maunganui, has signed off the vessel’s articles, at Auckland. Mr. P. Morrisbn has joined the Wairuna as chief engineer, relieving Mr. N. J. McMurrich for holidays. Mr. A. Thomson has rejoined the Tahiti as -second engineer,. Mr. Paterson coming ashore for instructions. Mr. D. Mcßean has rejoined the Waihine as second engineer after holiday leave. Mr. R. S. Dickie has joined the Kairanga as chief engineer in place of Mr. j E. W. Mackley, who is on holiday leave. LONDON TO NEW PLYMOUTH. —Tne C. and D. Line advises that the Port Alma, which is to leave London on June 19 for Wellington and Auckland, will also bring cargo for discharge at New Plymouth.

TASMANIA LEAVES PANAMA.—The N’ew Zealand Shipping Company has ieen notified by cable that the Tasmania arrived at Panama on Tuesday fom Auckland, and sailed again on Wedlesday for Newport News, London, and West Coast ports of Great Britain. NIAGARA AT SYDNEY—An arrival at Sydney on Saturday morning- was the .loyal Mail liner Niagara from Auckand. The vessel is to leave Sydney next Thursday and Auckland on the following Tuesday, on her return voyage to Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver. DOCKING MOVEMENTS.—At 7.30 i.m. tomorrow the Northern Steamship : Company’s Matangi and the Melanesian dission steamer Southern Cross undock tnd berth at Northern and Central Wharves respectively. When they have indocked the sloops H.M.S. Veronica and 1 Aburnum will take their places. AORANGI AT VAN CO U V E R—Cable idvice received by the Union Company dates that the Royal Mail liner Aorangi •eached Vancouver from Auckland at .0.30 p.m. last Thursday. The vessel is -o sail on her return trip to New Zeaand and Australia on Wednesday. She s due at Auckland on June 16 and at Sydney on June 21. HUNTINGDON TO COMPLETE—To complete her loading under the agency 3f the New Zealand Shipping Company, .he Federal steamer Huntingdon leaves Cxisborne tonight for Auckland. She is lue on Wednesday morning, and berths art the Central Wharf. It is hoped to lispatch the Huntingdon toward the end the week for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama. CANADIAN BRITISHER.—The local office of the Canadian National Steamships reports that the Canadian Britisher left Dunedin for Timaru on Saturday. The vessel should clear Timaru for Wellington tonight, and. is expected to leave the capital for this port on "Wednesday or Thursday next. On arrival here the Canadian Britisher is to complete loading and sail for New York, Boston and Montreal. CAMBRIDGE'S MOVEMENTS The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal Line steamer Cambridge, now at Wellington, will next proceed to Napier and Auckland to complete her cargo. She is scheduled to clear Napier on June 1 and to reach Auckland on June 3. From Auckland the vessel is to be dispatched on June 5 for New York, Boston, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. LAWBEATH PROM CUBA.—At 11 o'clock last evening the Waverley Shipping Company's vessel Lawbeath arrived in the stream from Cuba. She dropped i anchor for the night and proceeded to Chelsea Wharf this morning. The vessel is chartered to Andrew Weir and Co., and has a full cargo of raw sugar for discharge at this port. The Lawbeath is commanded by Captain D. A. Macfadyen. Spedding, Ltd., is the local agent. PASSENGERS FOR HOME.—The C. and D. liner Port Campbell, which left Wellington on Saturday afternoon for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Montevideo, took the following passengers:—Miss K. ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY. —The j only passe tiger steamer to arrive at New Zealand this week from Sydney is the Huddart. Parker’s Uiimaroa, which is due at Wellington tomorrow morning. She is to leave Wellington at noon on Friday on her return trip to Sydney. RIMUTAKA LEAVES BAHIA—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised by cable that the steamer Rirautaka, en route from New Zealand to Home, arrived at Bahia on May 23 to effect repairs to her steam pipe. The vessel continued her voyage the same day. RUAPEHU DUE SATURDAY —Now discharging London cargo at Lyttelton, the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the liner Ruapehu leaves th f • on Wednesday for Auckland. She is due here next Saturday, and after discharge, proceeds to New Plymouth to complete. TARANAKI AT BLUFF —To load in New Zealand for .England the Shaw, Savill and Albion motor-ship Taranaki reached Bluff from Townsville yesterday. The vessel will also load at Port Chalmers, .Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Gisborne and Auckland. She is scheduled to clear Auckland for London, via Panama, on June 15. GOLDEN CROSS SAILING—Last evening the O. and O. Line’s steamer Golden Cross arrived at Auckland from Wellington, and berthed at the Prince s Wharf to complete her loading for Honolulu, and San Francisco. Henderson and Macfarlane, the local agents, hope to dispatch the vessel at 3 o'clock this afternoon. lONIC LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON— According to cable advice, the White Star liner lonic left Southampton on Friday last for Auckland, where she is due on July 1. The vessel is bringing cargo from London for discharge at Auckland and Wellington, and passengers and mails from Southampton for disembarkation at Auckland. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL—With cargo from West of England ports for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, the C. and D. Line's motor-ship Port Dunedin is reported, according to cable advice received, to have left Liverpool last Saturday for Auckland. She is expected to arrive here on July .1. WIRRAL FROM NEW YORK.—Under charter to the A. and A. Line, the steamer 'Wirral arrived at Auckland this morning from New York, via Wellington. She was berthed at the Queen's Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The vessel has also cargo for discharge at Port Alma, Townsville, Cairns, Noumea and liabaul. R EMU ERA IN PORT—An arrival at Auckland this morning was the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rernuera, from London and Southampton, via Wellington and Napier. She was berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to complete her discharge, after which she commences loading lor Home. It is hoped to dispatch her again next Saturday for Napier to continue her loading. GOLDEN STATE DELAYED—A radio message received by Henderson and Macfarlane, states that the O. and O. Line's steamer Golden State is now expected to arrive at Auckland at daylight next Thursday from the Pacific Coast ports. She was originally scheduled to reach here today. She has been allotted a berth at the Prince's Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Timaru and Dunedin to complete. SUSSEX ARRIVING—A further radio message by the local office of the Union Company states that the chartered steamer Sussex is now expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at four o’clock this afternoon from Calcutta via way ports. Later she will berth at the King's Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. Owing to a fire, which broke out in No. 4 bold, a general average is to be declared, the percentage of which has not yet been announced.

WAI PA H I SAILS THURSDAY—To load another cargo of fruit for Auckland, the Union Company's Island fruit steamer Waipahi is to be dispatched from here next Thursday for Rarotonga, Mauke, Atiu, Mangaia. and Aitutaki. ROTORUA SAILS WEDN ES D A Y.—-The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the departure of the liner Rotorua from Wellington for Southampton and London, via Panama, has been fixed for s p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. BARON MACLAY TOMORROW—From Galveston, Texas, with a cargo of sulphur, the Baron Maclay is to arrive in port tomorrow, according to her radio message received by her local agents, Messrs. Robert Millar and Company, last week. She is. to berth at Kings Wharf. After discharging the local portion of her cargo the Baron Maclay is to proceed to Port Chalmers. Lyttelton. At 4 o'Hoca this afternoon the Hauturu is to be dispatched for Raglan. Kawhia and Waikato Heads. The Hokianga is to sail for Hokiangi at noon on Wednesday. The Rarawa is scheduled to leave for New Plymouth at 3 p.m. Today. She arrives back at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Arnpawa is expected to return to port from Wanganui and Opunake on Thursday morning.
