SHOP WINDOW SMASHED
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Today. A man smashed a shop window and took several pairs of shoes from Herbert and Company’s store, Colombo Street, Christchurch, last evening. The incident was witnessed by several people, one of whom called the police. In the Police Court today, Thomas John Long, aged 39, a labourer, faced four charges of theft and damages. He was remanded until Tuesday next.
