DISTURBED INDUSTRY

DOMINION AND AUSTRALIA INTERCHANGE COAL Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The steamer Kawatiri, which left Westport yesterday with a load of coal for Adelaide, is later to load coal at Kembla for a New Zealand port. This interchange of coal is an indication of the disturbed state of the coal industry in New South Wales. The coal consigned to Adelaide has been purchased for gas-making. The Kaikorai is also loading coal at Kembla for New Zealand. The Newcastle threats that safety men may be withdrawn from the closed mines in the Northern fields have not alarmed the owners, who claim that an emergency safety staff could be improvised if the union men came out.
