LIMERICK COMPETITION
The first prize for the best concluding lines in the limerick competition has been awarded to Rosemary Perrett, 29 Mount Smart Road, Royal Oak, aged 10, for the following entry:— There once was a little old man, Who drove a large furniture van; He said to his horses, “Our motto, of course, is 'Keep moving/ It’s time we began/ 3 The second prize has been won by Gloria Rawlinson, 14 Gladstone Road, Parnell, aged 10 > for the following conclusion:— You’ve smashed all the saucers, Please leave a few cups if you can.' Next in merit are the entries of Bridget Mutt, Birkenhead, aged 14:— When they weds or divorces , They all needs the furniture man. Eileen Luks, Birkenhead, aged 15: — You test my resources. So he laid on the whip as they ran . Ronald Green, Ellerslie, aged 12:— You are like noughts and crosses; Keep straight on the road if you can. Becky Pelham, Royal Oak, aged 15:— You’ve used all your forces, So now I shall buy a sedan.
