PERSONAL NOTES

Fanciers will regret to hear that Mrs. Lloyd, wife of Mr. Lloyd, Oratia, has been for several weeks in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital. This has necessitated Mr. Lloyd’s having to sell his entire flock of birds, which consisted of close upon 200 head of White Leghorns and Black Orpingtons. Mr. Roscoe, Glen Eden, who, by the way, is an ardent reader of The Sun, has a grand lot of White Leghorn and Black Orpington pullets. Mr. Roscoe believes in type consistent with egglaying ability in his birds, and, from the appearance of his pullets, he has practically attained Ills object. He has also a few selected Rhode Island Reds which are to be much admired. Mr. Don. Stewart, who has a lengthy list of judging appointments, has accepted a further couple of engagements, viz., all the fancy classes at Stratford, also all classes of poultry and ducks, both fancy and utility, at Hawera.
