NINETY-TWO TOMORROW

MRS. JOHN LEE’S BIRTHDAY An old colonist, who has been in New Zealand for 74 years, Mrs. John Lee, of Ponsonby, celebrates her 92nd birthday -tomorrow. She was born in 1837 in Dundee, Scotland, her maiden name being Margaret Adams. She is the daughter of the late Elizabeth and John Adams. Mrs. Lee came out to New Zealand in 1555 in the sailing ship Bank of England after a voyage which lasted 16 weeks from the time of leaving Gravesend till Auckland was reached.

The old colonist made her home in Auckland, and on March 17, ISSS, married Mr. ->ohn Lee. Her husband had been in the 58th Regiment at Brighton, and was a bricklayer by trade. Mrs. Lee had 10
