Papatoetoe Cricketers Entertain VIVID DECORATIVE SCHEME A canopy of multi-coloured streamers, from which hung hundreds of gay balloons, decorated the Papatoetoe Town Hall last evening, on the bccasion of the annual ball of the Papatoetoe Cricket Clubr Bowers of feathery nikau fronds filled the corners of the hall, adding a cool relief to the gay scheme of decorations. A delightful programme of dance numbers was provided by Hardman’s Orchestra. Messrs. E. H. Burnside, A. Swaffield and W. McFarland were masters of ceremony. The supper tables were daintily decorated with tall vases of salvias, and streamers of red and black, the club’s colours. Among those present: Mrs. F. M. Waters, wearing a frock of unrelieved black ninon. Mrs. A. Swaffield, whose frock was of dull black crepe satin. Mrs. J. J. Valentine, in a navy georgette embroidered in red. Mrs. H. Miss Margaret Wilson’s frock was of frilled tulle in softest shade of pink. Miss N. Wyllie, in powder blue georgette, with draped skirt. Miss A. McLennan, wearing rose toned taffeta with overskirt of shaded lace. Miss Rita Grin ter, in a frock of black and silver lace with shoulder posy. Miss Montgomerie, who wore mignonette ninon handsomely beaded in silver. Miss Flora Campbell wore a simple frock of apple green crepe de chine. Miss Rennie wore a charming gown of leaf green charmeuse, with bouffant skirt, finished with frills of narrow satin ribbon. Miss Phyl Weston was in shaded taffdta, with deep hem of gold lace. Miss Mona Waters, black georgette, with rhinestone trimmings.
