“Onehunga Rugbyite” writes to say that he thinks the following team would go very close to capturing the long-lost Ranfurly Shield: Backs —Butler, Falwasser, Lucas, Abbott, Weir, Cammick, Bryers or Rae, Forwards—Hadley, Brimble, Wanoa, McWilliams, Satherley, A. Knight, Batty, Hook or Soloman (rover). He adds: "I have picked the following players by their performances this season, and have dropped somg well-known players such as Swain, L. Knight, Minns. Berridge and Jenkin, as they have yet to prove themselves this season.”
