LOAN FOR ELECTRICITY

£3,000.000 ISSUE ON BEHALF OF BRITISH BOARD British Official Wireless Reed. 11 am. RUGBY, Thursday. A loan to be issued by the Bank of England on behalf of the Central Electricity Board was underwritten today. The amount will be £3,000,000, and the loan will take the form of four per cent., redeemable in 1959-89, to be offered at 83 per cent. The loan will be devoted to the forwarding of the schemes of the Electricity Board, which was set up to coordinate and develop the electric supply of this country.
