THEIR NIGHT OUT

REAL ESTATE INSTITUTE’S ANNUAL DINNER LARGE ATTENDANCE Banished were thoughts of transfers and commissions when the Auckland Real Estate Institute held its annual dinner last evening in the Lewis Eady Hall. There was an attendance of almost 200 members and friends, and at the table with tho president of the institute, Mr. W. J. Potter, were the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. George Baildon, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, and Mr. F. L. S. West, president of the Auckland Law Soceity. The following toasts were honoured during the evening:—‘‘The New President,” proposed by Professor Algie; “Tho Bench and the Bar,” proposed by Mr. T. Mclndoe and responded to by Mr. F. L. G. West; “The Municipality and Local Bodies,” proposed by Mr. S. E. Bennett and responded to by the Mayor and Mr. M. H. Wynyard; “The Visitors,” proposed by Mr. P. J. Crump and responded to by Mr. H. R. Mackenzie and Mr. D. Donaldson; “Retiring Officers,” proposed by Mr. L. P. Leary and responded to by Mr. A. W. Clark; “Our Foundation Members,” proposed by Mr. W. J. A. Thomson and responded to by Mr. F. Hull and Mr. G. B. Osmond; “Tho Press,” proposed by Mr. J. H. Jackson.

The musical programme was provided by the Lyric Four.
