Paviour-Smitli, of Wellington who has been on a business trip to England and America, returned today by the Port Auckland. Mr. A. Main, secretary of the Waiteraata Power Board, left by the Limited last evening to attend the Dominion conference of power board secretaries in Wellington. Miss Mary Allen, Dunedin, Mrs. A. Sluan, Melbourne, and Mr. Frank Staughton, Sydney, were among the passengers who arrived today by the Port Auckland from the United States. Mr. A. F. B. Small, of the Te Kuiti branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the Apia branch in Samoa. He will leave Auckland on June 15. Mr. W. .T. Poison, M.P. for Stratford and president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, is visiting Auckland. Today he was present at the Auckland provincial conference of the ,mion. ’Messrs. E. Aldridge, R. B.
