TIVOLI AND EVERYBODY’S

“WEDDING MARCH” TO-MORROW This evening will see the final pre- I sentation at both the Tivoli and Every- j body’s Theatres of the current pro- i gramme, which includes “The Seven j Footprints to Satan,”an eerie mystery story starring Thelma Todd, also “The Freedom of the Press,” which stars Lewis Stone and Marceline Day. At both theatres an entirely new , programme will be screened tomorrow j headed by the spectacular Erich von 1 Stroheim production “The Wedding j March.” To see one’s own father as he was ! thirteen years ago in the full glory t of the Austrian Court was the novel experience of his Imperial Highness. Archduke Leopold, when he visited Erich von Stroheim at the latter’s studio in Los Angeles recently. The Archduke had luncheon with von Stroheim, after which the director j showed him certain parts of “The i Wedding March,” on which he had j been working for some time. Among j the scenes viewed were those that form ; the Corpus Christi procession at St. ! Stephan’s Cathedral in Vienna and in ; which all the Hapsburg Court before the war take part. As the procession wended its way | from the cathedral the Archduke was ! greatly impressed on beholding familiar figures of days gone by, but his greatest thrill came, when he beheld his Imperial Highness, Archduke Leopold Salvator, his own father. The part of Leopold Salvator was played by Don Ryan, well-known Los Angeles writer, who was chosen by von Stroheim for the role because of his striking resemblance to the royal figure. Fay Wray, who has played the leading role in many Paramount productions lately (notably “The Legion of the Condemned”), plays the part of j the heroine in “The Wedding March.” ; Von Stroheim, the producer of the pic. ture. himself portrays the character 1 of the Austrian prince around whom the story centres. Included on the bright supporting programme will be “Secrets of the Deep, ’ a TJ.F.A. gem, also a comedy and a gazette.
