SOCCER CONTROL BOARD
NAVY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME MATCH FOR F.A. TROPHY .The Control Board of the Auckland Football Association met last night. Mr. Menzies being in the chair. Mr. Kane, of the New Zealand Football Association, was present, and spoke on the progress of the game in the South Island. The date for the English trophy match between 'Wellington and Auckland was definitely fixed for July 20. The following transfers were approved: Xicol, from Corinthians to Rangers; Scandle, from Celtfe to Corinthians; Scriven, from Tramways to Celtic. Celtic opposed the application of Carter for a transfer to Thistle, and it was refused. Final arrangements were completed for the match on Saturday next be- | tween H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. | Diomede, and for the entertainment of ! the teams after the match.It was decided that the Auckland representatives should play the Navy representatives at Blandford Park on June 3. with a secondary schools match as a, curtain-raiser. At the meeting of 'the Senior Division Committee, the new rules and forms for registration and transfers were approved. The chairman of the Control Board. Mr. Menzies, waited on j the committee with a proposal that the ! eliminating rounds for the Chatham j Cup be played on Wednesday evenings j by electric light, and if the clubs con- j sented, the Control Board would pay j all expenses of the winning club's journey to Wellington if it reached the final. The delegates expressed ?-eneral approval of the plan, but decided to consult their clubs before agreeing finally to the On the recommendation of the judicial committee, the complaint against Dithgow,- of the Belmont Club, was dismissed, and the player exonerated. The referee in the Thistle-Shore game reported that he had cautioned two Thistle and one Shore player for dangerous play, but as neither referee nor players appeared, no action was taken.
