The cruiser Diomede is seen in the foreground, beside the sheerlegs, with the sloops Veronica and Laburnum lying just astern. In Calliope Dock is the Dunedin which comes out today. Beyond har is. the old Philomel, with the minesweeper Wakakura on the other side of the wharf. In the stream is the cable ship Iris, and at the top of the picture the new Devonport Ferry Wharf can be seen.
