GOLDEN WEDDING
MR. AND MRS. J. W. LEMMON CELEBRATE
The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lemmon was celebrated at their homo in Pompallier Terrace, Ponsonby, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lemmon were married at South Durham Street Church, Sunderland, Durham, England, on May 18, 1879, and left a few days later for New Zealand on the ship Famenotli, the voyage taking 103 days. They landed at Auckland, where they have resided ever since. Mr. Lemmon is the eldest son of the late Captain William Lemmon and Mrs. J. W. Lemmon is the third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tate, of Sunderland. A pleasing feature of the celebration was that the Rev. E. O. Perry, who married the couple, was present, and so completed the union of old friends. There are five children of the marriage, two sons and three daughters, living in the Auckland district, and five grandchildren. CThere are also two grandchildren and one greatgrandson in Melbourne.
