PAPATOETOE WELFARE LEAGUE
The Papatoetoe Welfare League met on Tuesday evening, Colonel S. J. E. Closey presiding. A letter was received from the Auckland Electric-Power Board stating that the arrangements for the erection of the board's offices in Papatoetoe were being pushed on. and that tenders would be called at an early date. It is expected that the buildings will be ready for occupation before March 31, 1930. The Railway Department advised that as the result of a recommendation from the league it had decided to alter the time of the train departing at 7.27 a.m. to 7.20, to allow residents making use of this train to obtain the benefit of workers' concession tickets.
