Street ‘ ‘Pa rade "for Tomorrow Evening "SONG AND DANCE" Topical songs, hakas and dances will be features of a “parade” through the city to be staged by 30 University students as a preliminary to the students’ play. "The Ming of Kawau,” which will open its season at the St. James Theatre tomorrow evening. THE “parade” ■will consist of ona large motor-lorry or possibly one equally large horse-wagon, which it is hoped will carry all the 30. who constitute the members of the Hcmgi Club. It will leave the University about seven o’clock in the evening, and will then drive through Queen Street and, if time permits, Karangahape Road. In either case, it will arrive outside the St. James Theatre at about 7.4*. and the members will give an impromptu performance in the theatre before the curtain rises. Doubtless many Aucklanders who are fortunate enough to see the “parade” will recognise old friends. It is confidently predicted that, the “mayor” and several of the “city councillors,” as well as many other wellknown civic figures, will take a ride through the city and will address an admiring audience. Doubtless, too, much sage advice will be given the citizens of Auckland through the mediums of song and dance. There will also be a “jazz ’ band present. Those who are com- ' pelled to miss the first “parade will be glad to know that it will be re- \ peated on the last evening of the play, j Friday next.
