STRYCHNINE IN CREAM

TESTER FALLS WRITHING IN SEIZURE NARROW ESCAPE IN N.S.W. Reed. 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A can containing six gallons of cream was delivered into the Albion Park butter factory, a few days ago thoroughly impregnated with strychnine. The tester at the factory tested the cream and noticed that it was hitter. Later he fell writhing in a seizure. A doctor was called and diagnosed the case as strychnine poisoning. t It is alleged that a bottle of the deadly poison was upset at a coastal dairy, and some ran into the cream can. In ignorance of this fact, the can was filled with cream and sent to the factory. It can readily be imagined what might have happened had the mistake gone undiscovered by the tester.
