FAREWELL TO SCHOOLMASTER
; PRESENTATION AT KAIKOHE | Prior to dispersing for the winter : vacation the school children at the Kaikohe Public School assembled to say farewell to their popular headmaster, Mr. Patience, who has resigned and will take up another appointment at Bunnythorpe. The School Committee and some parents were also present. Mr. Guy, chairman of the committee, on behalf of the pupils, presented Mr. Patience with a wallet and silver pencil and to Mrs. Patience a honey jar. Mr. Patience suitably responded. On Monday evening a social wes tendered to Mr. and Mrs. Patience. Mr. Guerin, when making the presentation of a roll of notes, expressed the regret of the district at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Patience. During their seven years’ residence they had been keenly intersted in the social welfare of the town. In the absence of Mr. Patience, who was slightly indisposed, Mr. Guy. on behalf of Mrs. Patience, suitably replied.
