GRAND AND LYRIC
“STEAMBOAT BILL, JNR.” The double feature programme now at both the Grand and Lyric Theatres includes what is probably the most hilarious comedy made by Buster Keaton. This is entitled “Steamboat Bill, Junior,” and in it the famous star appears as the son of a Mississippi river-boat captain.
The story centres around the rivalry of two captains, which is considerably complicated by Buster Keaton falling in love with his rival’s daughter. A cyclone and a flood finish olf the trouble in a vei-y thorough style. “Show .Life,” the second feature, stars Anna May Wong, the little Chinese actress, as an assistant in a cheap Continental vaudeville act.
