“THE MIDNIGHT FROLICS”

HIS MAJESTY'S THIS EVENING Tonight the Midnight Frolics w ill begin a farewell season of eight nights in a big programme of new songs, musical items. ballets, dances and sketches, in the majority of which the irresistibly humorous comedian. Clem Da we. and Miss Mona Magnett. the brilliant young London comedienne, will bo outstanding. Clem Da we is very popular in Auckland, on and off the stage, and he is certain of being welcomed when he makes his appearance this evening. A large amount of interest is being taken by playgoers in the reappearance of Miss Mona Magnet, as her exploits in London (.where she is regarded as one of the finest revue artists of the day), and her brilliant artistry when she created a furore in -The Peep Show,” have stamped her as one of the cleverest of her type that has visited Auckland. Clem Daw© and Mona Magnet aie said to be particularly amusing in the sketch entitled “Too Many \V ives. In the opening prologue this evening the whole of the company will appear. The programme includes "Choo Choo” (Mona Magnet and company), ‘'The Suicide Club (Clem Dawe and Eric Edgeley). and “Cakewalk" (Mona. Magnet and Dorothy White). On the violin Gregory Ivanoff will present "De Moscow. “Imagination,” and other solos. William Perryman will present a number of his latest song successes, and so will Gertie Creme.r and Dorothy \\ hite. The new' and original sketches will include “Honeymoon,” “The Schoolmaster,” “Dope.” “Fun in Toyland.’ and "Divorce While You Wait.” The Dick Dorothy Trio will present its latest novelties, and an outstanding feature will once again be the Frolics’ Jazz Band of 12 performers. Another feature of this evening’s programme will be a burlesque cantata entitled "Horsey, Keep "Y our Tail Up. which is said to create screams of laughter from beginning to end. Altogether it is said this evening’s entertainment is by far the best allround programme in the repertoire of the Midnight Frolics. The box plans are at Lewis Eady’s.
