Mr W E. Duncan arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. professor W. Riddet went to Palmerston North last evening by the Limited. 0r T. Gray, Inspector-General of Mental Hospitals, is visiting Auckland, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. T. J. Cole and Mrs. M. Read, svho have been on a trip to the Islands, returned to Auckland by the Tofua today. Mr. J. H. Luxford will leave by the Tofua for Apia on June 3 5 to take up his position of Chief Judge of the High Court of Samoa. Mr. W. H. C. Watson, first operator tt Lake Coleridge power station, is acting as superintendent of the Arapuni power station. Mr. W. Candler, of Gillespie Bros., -rain-merchants, Sydney, returned by ?h® Tofua today after spending a holiday in the Islands. Mr. Maurice Ralph. South Island manager for J. C. Williamson, Limited, arrived by the Limited express this morning. He is staying at the Albert Hotel. Mr. J. J. Dougall, solicitor, of Christchurch, is about to leave for England ~n a six months’ holiday. Mr. Dougall intends to visit Scotland and also the continent, where he will visit the soldiers' graves. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. H. P.Kissling was passed at today’s meeting of the Karangahape Road Business Promotion Society. The late Mr. Kis»ling was a brother of Mr. G. A. Kissling, auditor of the society. The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways, will arrive in Auckland from Rotorua next Monday.
