boys’ championship was the opening event, the best eight gross scores to qualify for match play for a trophy given by the president, Mr. M. M. Louisson. The following eight players qualified for the first round, which is being played today:—C. Zahara, 175; J. D. Shanly, 195: A. L. Morpeth, 197; A. E. Browne, 199; G. T. Upton, 201; J. D. Lewis, 202; G. J. Walker, 208; R. Fotheringham, 213. Zahara won the trophies given by Messrs. F. J. Hanna and C. I. Nathan for the best gross and net scores. A bogey competition is also being played today.
