PRISONER PUNISHED
FLED IN PYJAMAS (Special to THE SEX) WANGANUI, Monday. Bread and water for 14 days was the punishment imposed on Georgo Warren Hastings, a prisoner who escaped on May 34, when at the Wanganui Hospital to have an injured hand attended to. He was captured the same day at CastleclifT. Hastings told the magistrate that the hospital authorities made no attempt to attend to his injury, so he escaped. | He was wearing pyjamas only. i ’ ON OTHER PAGES
