PROPERTIES TO BE SOLD DRASTIC PAPAKURA ACTION Unpaid rates totalling about £1.00(1 are to be recovered by the I’apakura Town Board by selling the properties of the owners concerned. At the meeting of the board last evening it was stated that the rate:* were long overdue, the owners had refused to pay and judgment summonses lind been fruitless. The Finance Committee recommended that the ratepayers concerned, should bo notified that unless the rates were paid within a. certain time legal steps should bo taken for selling tha properties. The Rev. W. C. Wood and Messrs, Leitch, McKnteo and other members said that the suggested action should be taken, particularly as the ratepayers concerned were setting a bad example to others who had regularly paid. The board could pursue ru> other course, and it would show that it bad the courage of its convictions. The committee’s recommendation was adopted.
