Cathedral Square Must Be Cleared
trams and shelters COURT GRANTS INJUNCTION Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Mr. Justice Herdman has granted an injunction restraining the Christchurch City Council from erecting the pronosed new conveniences in Cathedral Square, and requiring the removal of the existing tramway shelter. Four months has been allowed for an appeal to be lodged. The judgment means not only the prohibition of the erection of new consiliences, but the removal of the present tramway shelter, conveniences and tram rails. Mr. Justice Herdman agrees that everything on the west side of the Square, except one chain for a roadway is reserve, and must be restored to its original state.
