SCENE IN COMMONS
SHOUTING COMMUNISTS INTERRUPT WILD REFERENCES TO INDIA (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. LONDON, Monday. There was a scene in the House of Commons during a debate which was wholly unconnected with India. A white-haired, well-dressed man in the gallery leapt to his feet, and scattered in the Chamber handfuls of blue leaflets, shouting "Down with the Simon Commission!” He was led out without resistance. As soon as he had left, a woman who was sitting near rose and shouted: “Down with the persecutors! Down with a Government that murders Indian workers!” While being led out she shouted: “Down with torturers and murderers!” She sang the “Red Flag.” The interrupters admitted that they were Communists, and they were detained till the House rose.
