ELECTRICAL STORM
OPOTIKI RIVERS RISE (I'rom Our Own Correspondent) OPOTIKI. To-day. The electrical disturbance which commenced at Opotiki on Sunday afternoon continued all day yesterday, and until a late hour last night. There were many fierce squalls, accompanied by terrific claps of thunder and torrential rain. A heavy sea is still running in the Bay of Plenty, and conditions still remain unsettled. Heavy rain which fell in the back country caused the rivers to rise during the night. Residents consider the electrical disturbances to be the longest ever experienced in the district.
