Throughout the current week’s pro- | gramme an atmosphere of fresh no- j velty is maintained. The first portion : of the evening includes a new and screamingly-funny sketch in which ! George is menaced by a particularly < fhcient-looking wild Red Indian. Every ; rtist in the company has plenty to do and does that plenty well. Then there comes the revue—a production of many scenes, several of which are of a most ambitious nature, j There are songs, dances, interludes, colour ensembles, and humorous moments galore. The programme is one that should not be missed. VILMA BANKY, GOLFER Even though most of her past roles have portrayed her as the languid type of beautiful blonde, Vilma Banky, star of "The Awakening." the Samuel Goldwyn United Artists picture which 2s being released in New Zealand very shortly, is far from languid in her daily ! life. No member of the Hollywood film colony is more addicted to outdoor ■ ports than the girl whom the world knows as the "Hungarian Rhapsody.” kiving in California, she is, of course. n enthusiastic, swimmer, but in addition she rides and plays tennis and is « ven trying to he good American \ enough to take up golf in a big way.
