SIXTY-SEVEN CANDIDATES
* Record City Nominations
NEW LIST AT NEWMARKET
MR. DONALDSON UNOPPOSED
SIXTY-SEVEN candidates have been nominated to fill 21 vacancies on the Auckland City Council. This creates a fresh record for Auckland City, and indicates the probability of another heavy percentage of invalid votes on May 1. Last election there were 61 candidates. Four candidates for the Mayoralty have been nominated. Twenty-seven nominations came in this morning, one two minutes before closing time. There will be 48 pollingbooths with about 500 clerks.
