KING’S UNCLE WILL TAKE SALUTE
DUKE OF CONNAUGHT’S SERVICE British Official Wireless RUGBY, Saturday. Field-Marshal the Duke of Connaught will act on behalf of the King and take the salute at the annual ceremony of the trooping of the colours by a brigade on the Horse Guards’ parade on June 3. the day appointed for the celebration of his Majesty’s birthday. The Duke will complete fhis year a term of 25 years as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. To mark the anniversary his Royal Highness, who is senior colonel of the Brigade of Guards and senior Field-Marshal in the Army, will hold an inspection of the Grenadier Guards on the Horse Guards’ parade on May 16. All three battalions of the regiment will take part in the ceremony.
