BANS ON U.S. FILMS
FOREIGN RESTRICTIONS PROTEST FROM WASHINGTON (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) WASHINGTON, Saturday. The State Department has lodged protests with France and six other European countries against “arbitrary restrictions” on American cinema films. The department does not intend to question such measures as may be imposed for the purpose of protecting, through censorship, traditions or public morals, but it has intimated that it objects to regulations which disturb the free international exchange of films.
