DISCOVERY ON BEACH
FORMER MENTAL PATIENT l From Our Own c orrespondent i oPOTIKL TO-day. The body of Mrs. C. H. M. Vazey, who had been missing since Monday afternoon was found cn Waiotahi Beach this morning. At an inquest laid this morning Mr. H.'iuv Edward Vazey. farmer. Woodlands. stated that he found his wife missing at 4.30 pan. on April N. Her health was good, although she had previously suffered from a nervous breakdown and had in a mental hospital in 1022. He searched tin river bank and found her apron hanging on a wir« fence. lie had searched every day since for the body and be found it to-day on Waiotahi Beach. He informed tlie police, who recovered the body. In reply to a question bv the coroner, witness said that when in the mental hospital his wife was always considered a suicidal case. Her mental condition gave him the impression that she had drowned herself. The coroner. Mr. F. J- Short, returned a verdict that Mrs. Vazey nvt her death through drowning, there beiim no evidence to show how she got into the Water.
